How To Starve During PiBoIdMo

As we prepare for Tara Lazar's Picture Book Idea Month, (or NaNoWriMo) one of the things at the top of the list is feeding our families. I always start out with the best intentions.

Between piano lessons, play rehearsal, and prayer meeting, the Lord knows there's little enough time as it is. Each year I look for places to save a few extra minutes which I can then devote to writing. In years past, I've stocked up on groceries and planned a whole month's worth of meals so I could avoid wasting time saying, "What are we having for dinner tonight?"

This is what my meal planning menu looked like last year.

Look familiar?

So this year I have a new plan. I've spent months collecting recipes and making calendars. I've organized all the information, including shopping lists, which I'll be sharing with all of you THIS month so you can be ready for NEXT month. I've tried to keep things realistic and simple, after all, we still have to have time to write in October.

Tara Lazar, the PiBoIdMo participants, and the kidlit community at large have been a constant source of support for me. I hope the meal prep I've done here will be of use to you.

Come back tomorrow for the first installment: How NOT to Starve During PiBoIdMo
We'll start with a printable November menu, list of kitchen staples, and resources.

  1. Oh Joanne - you TOTALLY made me laugh! But you forgot breakfast cereal. That's ALWAYS good for a meal in November. ;)

Looking forward to your tips! Have a great day!

    1. I LOVE that idea. Unfortunately it's difficult to keep cereal in stock for breakfast, let alone dinner. You should see the looks I get at the grocery store!
