What I Love:
Okay, I admit Karen is a friend of mine, so I was excited for the release of this book. But when I read Voyage, I knew I had to share it with the Perfect Picture Book Friday readers. Karen's paintings brings a personal layer to the lyrical story. Billy's text is simple yet deep. This book has an undefinable magical quality which makes reading it an adventure in itself.

Sparkly Cork Sailboats

  1. What a beautiful and quiet story to share. It looks like a great adventure for the boy. I enjoyed the video and loved the last illustration where you can see the bright light in the boy''s eyes. I want this book.

    1. Then be sure to watch the video from the National Book Festival in DC. Billy talks about the man who inspired the poem, Voyage, and he reads it to the audience! Thanks for your kind words.
